Odiley FESTUS
Many of such songs heralded the
end of a lovely Christmas for all students and
staff who joined either as guests or Christians
to mark the worldwide celebrations of Christmas
day in the home of social events for major EMU
events THE EMU BEACH CLUB.
It was an event marred by a slow
start but eventually picked up as most of the
guests came late due to the cold winter nights
prevailing on the island as this time of the
year.
However many took the delay in
the party to socialize, as the party was the
only reminder of the colorful Christmas
celebrations, most foreign students missed as a
result of their quest for studies out of their
various countries.
The events of the day finally
kicked off with a student choir singing carols
and dances by different groups and food and
drinking were provided by the International
Center. It was a great night marked with lots of
clicking of champagne glasses and photo snaps.
A guest from the AMERICANOS
COLLEGE commented "It is lovely to be here,
there is no better way to compensate for missing
Christmas at home. I am delighted to be here, I
have not regrets being here. Next year I will
make sure I am here again". A lot of students
agreed it was a noble idea to have more events
to make the students feel more integrated to
this society.
The staff of the International
Center and the assistants did do a remarkable
job but more effort needs to be on deck to have
a more populated party next year. All the same,
it was nice and a very good effort. |
