Moner Murtaja, a Masters student
at EMU, has been elected as the National
Representative of Erasmus Student Network of
Cyprus after the National Platform meeting held
yesterday. Murtaja said that, “a new age of ESN
Cyprus will start with a group that is willing
to make the gap narrower between both sides. I
hope that politics will not interfere with this
basic human rights activity and that students
and organizations will support these kinds of
initiatives.”
Election results The meeting
also elected Andreas Protopapas as the Vice
National Representative of ESN Cyprus, Andreas
Sochacki as President of the section's Executive
Board and Naciye Bey as the President of the
National Board Parliament. Erasmus Student
Network has four member sections in universities
named as " Eastern Mediterranean University,
Girne American University, University of
Nicosia" Intercollege" and University of Cyprus
.
One more university form north
and one from south can join ESN Murtaja said
that two more universities, one from northern
side and one from southern side can apply for
membership of ESN and let their students to
benefit from short period visits to European
Erasmus Student Network Sections which is in 32
country and with more than 214 university
members. Applications will be taken till the
first week of January.
