The music track “Unrecognized Country” composed and produced by Shahed Mohseni Zonoozi, EMU Alumnus, won World Music Bronze Medal at the Global Music Awards in USA.

“Unrecognized Country” is a part of Inter-Continental Concerts’ project known as ICC and it was performed in ICC’s concert at EMU in 2013 and 2014. The whole idea of the music revolves around Turkish Republic of North Cyprus and the underlying message to the world is that people in this region have a life, study like everyone in different parts of the world and can create beautiful music to be heard by the rest of the world.”

shahed_global-music-awardsInter-Continental Concerts  project was founded in 2011 by Shahed Mohseni Zonoozi and Sam Mosallaeipour. The two met while attending school at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus. During their studies, they had made many friends from many nations. Inspired by this cultural kaleidoscope, the two decided to put together a team of dedicated artists committed to using music and the performing arts to create a positive impact on their community.

From 2011 to 2015, ICC produced a series of programs consisting of videos, music albums and live concert events featuring artists from around the world. They stressed the idea that peace, love and life can be communicated through the language of music.

Many artists generously played at ICC’s music tracks, but the musicians who contributed specifically for recording “Unrecognized Country” are: Salar Hamzei (Guitar), Yasaman Behshad (Vocal), Babak Mahbaei (Electric Guitar), Behzad Heidarshenas (Flute) and Ehsan Shafiee (Percussion).
