Manchester United FC played Arsenal FC at Old Trafford in a Premier League match yesterday, the 19th of November 2016 at 3:30pm local time.

In a keenly contested match, Manchester United’s Juan Mata scored in the 68th minute of the match and French International, Olivier Giroud saved the day for Arsenal with an equalizer at the 89th minute making Arsenal FC, 4th on the Premier League Standings with 25 points, and Manchester United 6th with 19 points.

In an interview with Gündem’s Sport Correspondent, Eastern Mediterranean University football lovers shared their thoughts about the football match. Abdullahi Omar, a Moroccan student of Pharmacy Faculty who is a Manchester United fan said, “Today’s game was very interesting; the way we played was very nice and enjoyable to watch. Although Arsenal played us in the first half but we played them better in the second half and we had more chances, but they were just lucky. I am happy with the tactics our coach used it really made a lot of sense”.

Paul Agu, a student of Business Administration from Nigeria also shared his thought on the match. He said, “It was a very interesting game though I wanted Arsenal to win. Our coach needs to consider Oliver Giroud more in all our games because he is a good player but he is not giving him enough playing time which is bad and also decreasing his value but the game was a very wonderful game thanks to Oliver Giroud”.

Also we spoke to Joseph Jude Smith, a Public Relations student of EMU, who is a Chelsea supporter. He said; “It was a wonderful game for the two sides, I actually wanted Arsenal to win because they played a wonderful game. I was really thrilled by their game”.

Every Manchester United and Arsenal FC meeting is mostly a highly anticipated one because there is a well-documented history of the rivalry between the two clubs. As the 19th of November 2016 match favored Arsenal Fc, we look forward to their next Premier League meeting on Saturday, 6 May, 2017 in Emirates Stadium.
