EMU’s Interaction Club flags-off Language Classes for Students

The Eastern Mediterranean University’s Interaction Club in collaboration with the Alumni Communication and Career Research Directorate (MİKA) recently commenced conversation classes for students interested in learning English and Turkish languages.

The language classes flagged off on Wednesday, October 23 (for English) and Thursday, October 24 (for Turkish) at the Mehmet Tahiroğlu Salonu (popularly known as Blue Hall), aim at equipping students with the requisite language skills for the ease of communication within the university’s host community and to promote cultural exchanges among the thousands of students who came from different parts of the world.

While addressing participants at the flag-off event, Cemal Kılıç from the Alumni Communication and Career Research Directorate (MİKA), stated that in addition to the conversation classes which will continue through the 2019-2020 academic year and beyond, there are a number of other activities including tours, interaction (speaking) groups to familiarize students with the Turkish culture and some historical landmarks around the environment.

However, the language classes have been scheduled for every Thursday and Friday at the Central Lecture (CL) Building between 17.00 and 19.00 hours, while the interaction (speaking) groups will be held Mondays to Fridays at Lala Mustafa Paşa Spor Center between 12.30 and 14.00 for both languages.
