EMU Marks 2019 Halloween amidst Celebrations

Friday, November 1 2019 was another exciting day at the Eastern Mediterranean University as the International Office wowed students with interesting and entertaining events at the Halloween party. To mark the 2019 Halloween which is usually celebrated in the last quota of each year, this year’s costume party was tagged “Haunted House Vol 2.”

 

One might be wondering how Halloween came about. The origin and meaning of Halloween derives from the ancient Celtic harvest festivals which signifies the evening before all hallows day or all saints day. It is now celebrated across the world as a day filled with lots of candies trick or treats, pumpkins, and for showcasing their costumes. This day is celebrated and enjoyed by adults and kids. rsity community is not an exception in this celebration. The event held at the University’s CL Square between 18.00 and 24.00 hours and was massively attended by students of various nationalities, departments, faculties and even the Famagusta locals of North Cyprus.

The event which featured music by DJ Mario and series of competitions, saw a number of students who all attended dressed in their beautiful and scary Halloween costumes. This year’s Halloween also featured another exciting episode of haunted house which wowed the students and games square where students had fun during the party.
