At the end of every academic semester, the Department of Public Relations and Advertising organizes a ceremony to celebrate and honor outstanding students from the previous semester. Attended by staff and students of the department, this year’s ceremony held on December 27th at the Purple Hall, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
Certificates of honor and high honor were awarded to outstanding students both in the Turkish and English-taught programs. Amidst the excitement, chocolate bars were issued to the outstanding students, while other talented students performed beautiful songs to entertain the crowd.
In an interview with Gündem, the Department Chair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anil Kemal Kaya, expressed her delight and satisfaction with events which transpired at the ceremony. According to Dr. Anil, “We believe that this ceremony is motivating our students and that our students are not just theoretically satisfied but also, practically successful.” Explaining further, the Department Chair stated that every semester, the department prepares different concepts for the ceremony and for this semester, it is tagged “This is my year”. “I believe that 2020 will be a good year for the students of Public Relations and Advertising. We thank all those who attended the ceremony. It shows that we are one family coming to celebrate together,” she concluded.
The ceremony ended with a series of light refreshments served, and group photos taken with the awardees and staff members who graced the occasion.
