EMU 2nd 15th November Republic Day Run was held on Friday, 12th November 2021. Organized by Sports Affair Directorate, the 2nd edition of the Republic Day race was held at EMU at 15:00 hours, with a substantial number of contestants.
The start line of the track began at Lala Mustafa Pasa Sports Complex, making a whole circle of the campus to finish off at the EMU Yasin Fakirer stadium. The race incorporated contestants from different age groups, divided into categories for evaluation from 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 & over 50.
Commencing with encouraging words from the EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, Students covered a whole distance of 3 kilometres from start to finish line.
Awards Distribution
Medals & certificates were presented to winners & contestants likewise. In the women’s category of 20-29, Duygu Ağcabay scored 1st place followed by, Beyza Çelme & Sıla Okur as 2nd & 3rd respectively.
From Men’s category of 20-29, Ayman Mazaur Scored 1st by a lengthy margin to his competitors, followed by Redha Albaloushe & Ersencan Akbaşak for a close 2nd & 3rd position subsequently.
In 30-39 category, Naile Günbay ranked 1st whereas, Eda Sarı came in 2nd place. In 40-49 category Gülseren Dayanık took 1st place in women, while Aydın Kayol scored 1st from men. Lastly, Hasip Hasipoğlu scored 1st place in men’s over 50 category.
The medals were presented to winners by the special guests Dr. Erdal Özcenk & Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın.
